Bradbury Dam was one of my first paintings for The River's Journey project. Painted in November 2016 during the 6 year drought, Cachuma Lake was at 10% capacity and Santa Barbara was receiving state water to prevent the lake from becoming a dead pool. Just a few short months later a large storm in February brought the lake back up to 50%. It was a rare sight to see it this low.

Bradbury Dam is gouache on Arches Board. Image size is 2.5x7" framed to 8x12" with museum plexiglass for ease of shipping and protection against the damage of light. Currently on view at the Santa Barbara City Hall Gallery sponsored by the Office of Arts and Culture. The show will run August 2018 through March 2019.
