Fishing is a multi-cultural experience and a place where humans can pause and connect with nature. There is a long history of fishing along the Santa Ynez River. Our dams and reservoirs have altered the path of the Steelhead Trout, almost to the point of extinction. Lake Cachuma still offers a place to unwind and connect with our water source. Many fisherman will tell you about the “one that got away”.

Fishing is gouache on Arches Board. Image size is 4x6" framed to 11x14" with museum plexiglass for ease of shipping and protection against the damage of light. Currently on view at the Santa Barbara City Hall Gallery sponsored by the Office of Arts and Culture. The show will run August 2018 through March 2019.

Fishing captures how we interact with our river and lakes.  It also makes us think of what we have lost by creating dams.  Our Steelhead Trout population are now endangered.
